Liverpool are trying to negotiate a late deal to sign Rubin Kazan holding midfielder Yann M’Vila, according to reports in the Liverpool Echo.
The former France international has only been with the Russian Premier
League outfit for just over a year now after originally signing for
Rubin on a four-year deal from Ligue 1 side Rennes for a fee of £9.6m.
However, according to various stories coming out of Russia of late,
the Frenchman has already grown tired of life at his new club, while the
23-year-old has also reportedly found it hard to settle into his new
surroundings.
All of which has given the Merseyside giants hope of
being able to negotiate an initial six-month loan deal for the player
with a view to then signing M’Vila on a permanent contract come the end
of the campaign.
Initially when the Reds inquired about the
defensive midfielder’s availability at the start of the January transfer
window, there were no pressing concerns to lure a player in his
position to Anfield.
But that was before the recent long-term knee
ligament injury picked up by key Brazil international Lucas Leiva
against Aston Villa, meaning the club will now press ahead with those
initial plans.
