Bobby Williamson awatolea nje Yanga

FAR-TRAVELLED Scottish manager Bobby Williamson has turned down the chance to take over the helm of Tanzanian champions Young?Africans.

The ex-Hibernian and Kilmarnock manager led Gor Mahia to their first Kenyan championship for 18 years earlier this year. He has already rejected the chance to move to Tanzania to manage Simba, but was offered an even more lucrative job at their ambitious Dar es Salaam rivals Young Africans, who axed Dutch coach Ernie Brandts last week.

The club – known as Yanga – play in a 60,000 capacity stadium and have ambitions of mounting a challenge in the African Champions League.

But the former Rangers and West Brom striker insists he is not ready to leave Kenya yet. He said: “I can assure you I am here to stay and any reports linking me to another club are not official. Yes, teams have sought my services but I have a job to do at Gor for now.”
Williamson has also managed Uganda, Chester City and Plymouth Argyle.
