Tuttosport are reporting that Juventus are lining up a bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. This source suggests that the Serie A title holders will offer £14.5m plus Milos Krasic for the Uruguayan international, an offer that is sure to get short shrift from Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers.
Liverpool are unlikely to entertain any offers for the one effective striker they possess and certainly won’t accept such a derisory offer from Antonio Conte’s side, who are seemingly keen to bring in attacking alternatives having spent last term depending a great deal on goals from their midfield and wide areas as they clinched the Italian title without losing a single game.
Serbian attacker Milos Krasic has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club for the best part of a year and whilst the 27 year old may well be a player Rodgers’ considers as a potential target he is sure to turn down any part exchange offer for Suarez.
The former Ajax man finished last term with 17 goals and 11 assists to his name, despite spending a large chunk of the campaign out with the suspension that followed his well publicized run in with Man United full-back Patrice Evra.
Given that the club’s next top scorer didn’t make it into double figures it’s fair to state that the 25 year old is a pivotal player that Rodgers can ill afford to lose this summer, whatever the price.
